Baria Markets

The markets at Baria were built around 1969, and had living quarters for the stall holders upstairs. As this photo shows, when there were no markets being held the place was quite clean and quiet, but on market days the area became a sea of people both buying and selling all types of produce. Everything from fish (dried and fresh) to fruit and vegetables and all the staples of life were on display in what to us would be considered very unsanitary conditions, but to them were quite normal. As the saying goes "to each their own" I guess.
